We are delighted to invite you to the 23rd Scientific Conference of the Society for Gestalt Theory and its Applications (GTA), organised jointly with the Department of Psychology of the University of Milano-Bicocca. Founded in 1999 as part of a newly established university, the Department has its roots in the Institute of Psychology, launched after World War II by Cesare L. Musatti, pioneer of the Gestalt movement in Italy.
The Conference’s topic – Mind, Perception, Reality – is one of the central issues of Gestalt psychology and its Italian variant, “experimental phenomenology”: the relationship between the mind and phenomenal reality as established at the perceptual level. However, the conference will not focus solely on perception; ample space will be given also to attention, learning, memory, decision making, reasoning, personality, motivation, emotions, clinical psychology, psychotherapy, and communication.
The Conference is interdisciplinary. Psychologists, linguists, philosophers, phenomenologists, anthropologists, psychoanalysts, educational and social scientists, sports scientists, biologists, and physicists are welcome to contribute. The Conference also wants to reflect on the relevance of Gestalt theory today in dialogue with other contemporary perspectives.
Details of the meeting and special events can be found on this website or will be added to the website at a later moment.
The call for papers and workshops is closed.
